Dr Bryan Tan graduated from the National University of Singapore in 2001. He completed his Advanced Specialist Training in Orthopaedics obtained the FRCS Ed (Orth) qualification in 2010. Dr Bryan has completed a clinical fellowship in Shoulder, Elbow and Sports surgeries in St Vincent’s Hospital in Sydney, Australia.

In addition, he also completed a clinical fellowship in advanced Shoulder surgery in Nice, France under the renowned Professor Pascal Boileau, a world leader in Shoulder surgery.

Dr Bryan is a Visiting Consultant in National University Hospital, where he continues to visit and operate on a weekly basis. He is also a Clinical Lecturer at the Faculty of Medicine, National University of Singapore (NUS). In addition, Dr Bryan also runs an orthopaedic clinic in the University Health Centre providing orthopaedic care for students and staff of NUS.

He regularly conducts training courses for surgeons interested in learning keyhole surgeries of the shoulder and knee in Singapore and regional countries including Thailand and China.

Dr Bryan’s expertise includes general orthopaedic surgeries, joint replacement, ligament reconstruction/ repair and Sports surgeries. He has a special interest in keyhole surgeries of the shoulder and elbow and has performed the largest number of bone transfer procedures via keyhole surgery (arthroscopic Latarjet Procedure), in Singapore.
These complex procedures are performed in young, active patients with shoulder joint bone injuries causing recurrent dislocations.

Dr Bryan has a keen interest in sports and participates in multiple sports including Muay Thai, powerlifting and wake-boarding, giving him a deep understanding of sports-related injuries and how they can best be treated.
